The modern day concept of "public safety" includes a wide range of services, but is mostly about the Police, the Courts, and Fire/EMS. I thoroughly applaud and admire those who willingly serve our community with distinction--both the volunteers and the professionals.

Police, Courts and the Law

The police and the law courts serve a vital role in our community and must be properly funded/equipped to do their jobs of identifying and prosecuting criminals, protecting the rights of all citizens, and providing a forum where the disputes of people and businesses can be resolved in accordance with objectively defined rules.

All laws must be objective (and objectively justifiable): men must know clearly, and in advance of taking an action, what the law forbids them to do (and why), what constitutes a crime and what penalty they will incur if they commit it.
